Wells Smash owes it's humble beginnings to Wells Bodyworks in Hobart, Tasmania. Founded by the late Tony Wells in 1974,
Wells Bodyworks employed Tony, his wife and Wells' first spray-painter Alan Smart. The staff of 24 at the
large Campbell Street site now includes five who work on administration. Tony's son Mark had managed the business
from 1994, before heading north to the Gold Coast to build the Wells Smash shop from the ground up.

From day one, to only twelve months in operation, Mark had build a 40 cars-a-week business that had already developed a
strong reputation for high-quality repairs and customer satisfaction. The Wells workshop in Arundel now employs
around 40 staff, headed by Mark Wells and his family.

Wells Smash has an ongoing commitment to training for its already skilled and experienced staff. All staff have won an award at some stage of their formal training.Training does not end with TAFE - Wells Smash regularly sends key staff to specialist training courses and seminars to ensure we are abreast of new techniques and emerging trends in equipment and repair technologies.
